Park City Miner's Day Parade

Park City Miner’s Day & Labor Day Parade

Come up to Park City’s Historic Main Street & City Park on Labor Day and join the Park City Rotary Club in celebrating our mining heritage during a full day of activities for all ages in our annual Park City Miner’s Day Celebration.  The Annual Labor Day gathering celebrates Park City’s Mining Heritage and raises money for Summit County non-profit organizations.

Wondering how to make the most of Miner’s Day in Park City?

Start the day off with breakfast in the Park.  Saint Mary’s Catholic Church offers a delicious breakfast in City Park from 7:30 until 9:30.  For only $5 per person you can get pancakes, eggs, ham, hash browns, fruit, coffee, OJ and milk.  Children four and under are free. All proceeds go to the church’s Religious Education program.  Feeling fast?  Get funky and wear your best costume while racing a fast Funky 5K run then run right up to Main Street for the Running of the Balls followed immediately at 11:00 am with the Miner’s Day Parade.

Park City Miners Day - Running of the Balls

Park City Miners Day – Running of the Balls

RUNNING OF THE BALLS?  The way it works is; you “adopt” a ball that is released at the top of Main Street prior to the parade. The first ball through the finish line chute will win it’s owner a valuable prize, such as airline tickets and many other great donated prizes. There will be over 10 other prizes awarded for close finishers. This much anticipated event is sponsored by the Park City Rotarians and benefits other charity projects.

Buy a “Ball” and enjoy the fun… it’s for a great cause!

Park City Miner's Day - Mucking & Drilling Competition

Park City Miner’s Day – Mucking & Drilling

After the Parade, everyone will head down to City Park for kids games, BBQ lunch, live music and our famous Mucking and Drilling Competition.  One of the highlights of the Miner’s Day celebration is the Mucking and Drilling competition.  Competitors come from around the Mountain West to compete in timed events that simulate the demanding work done in Park City’s silver mines.

We invite everyone to come to Park City and help celebrate our rich mining heritage with our Miner’s Day Celebration & Parade.

Take advantage of our Park City Miner’s Day special which offers a 3rd night of lodging FREE at select Park City Utah lodging locations for stays over Labor Day weekend.  Check availability and book online today.
