Howl-O-Ween Park City Style

Halloween in Park City
Vicki Gaebe

Park City is excited to announce the return of Howl-O-Ween on Main Street in 2021.  Halloween on Historic Park City’s Main Street was named one of the top Halloween celebrations in the country by Travel and Leisure magazine!

One of Park City’s most popular Halloween attractions will return to Historic Main Street followed by the Howl-O-Ween dog parade, an annual event dedicated to man’s best friend. Revelers come from all over Park City and beyond with their canine companions dressed in all manner of wacky, whimsical, or spooky costumes. Main Street becomes a fashion runway for four-legged friends as the heart of Park City goes to the dogs.  Little monsters are invited to trick or treat in the safe environment of Main Street by visiting participating merchants from 3 PM – 5 PM on Halloween. The parade itself begins immediately after.

Schedule of Events

3:00-5:00 p.m. Trick-or-Treating: Little ghosts and goblins are invited to Main Street for fun and safe Trick-or-Treating, compliments of participating merchants! Dogs are welcome to join as long as they are dressed up on their leash and owners care for their droppings appropriately!

Getting to Main Street & Parking

  • Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 2 p.m.
  • The Historic Park City Alliance and Park City Municipal Corporation strongly encourage the use of alternative transportation.

Want to ensure accessing Main Street is a treat rather than a trick? We have a few ideas:

  1. If you are coming with two-legged creatures take the bus! If you must drive to town park at the Park City School District, Park City Mountain or Deer Valley Resort and hop on public transit there.
  2. Parking is available at Park City Mountain, Deer Valley Resort and the Park City School District. (No overnight parking, however!)
  3. City Transit, City Transit, City Transit! It's free, frequent and easy!
  4. Carpool - Meet up with your friends at home and jump in one car. Walk or bike - Have you seen all the bike racks in Historic Park City? There are plenty of spots to lock up your bike once you arrive and it is downhill when you are leaving.

In addition to the dog parade (and some terrible puns), Howl-O-Ween boasts plenty of fun activities and treats for the whole family. Dogs aren’t the only ones encouraged to dress up, of course.  Here's a few other Halloween activities around Park City.  One of the best ghost walks in the country, the Park City tour will give you a spooky good time while relating some fascinating history, paranormal and otherwise.  www.parkcityghosttours.com.  OR...Take a walk with the family on the McPolin trail around the Farm and enjoy amazing squarecrow creations.

Enjoy….and have a spooktacular night!
