Fall in Park City is certainly our favorite time of year; the kids are back in school, the leaves are turning, and the cool weather is much appreciated after a longer, hotter than normal summer.  It's not too late to experience fall in Park City, the leaves have just begun to turn with amazing autumn colors expected right into October.  Come join us!

  1. Hiking & Biking in the Fall Colors - Park City, Utah boasts more than 400 miles of trails for hiking and biking, and with so many trails, it can be difficult to know which trails are suited for you.  Whether you're searching for family-friendly outings or a longer adventure to the top of a mountain, any one of these trails is a great starting point for your next Park City hike. Looking for hiking trails in Park City?   2. Golfing - Golfing in Park City is great throughout the summer season, but especially breathtaking in the fall. You’ll spend much of your time just enjoying the scenery as you make your way around the 18-hole Park City Golf Club.  Just down the road is the newly opened Canyons Golf Course, winding its way through 97 acres in the heart of the Canyons Resort.  It features over 550 feet of elevation change with spectacular views of Park City and the surrounding valleys. Canyons Golf is scheduled to close mid-October, weather permitting.
  3. Scenic Drives Guardsman Pass Scenic Backway is a scenic backcountry drive that connects Salt Lake Valley, including the towns of Brighton, Solitude, Park City, and Midway.  The Alpine Loop Scenic Byway is a 27-mile journey through fantastic mountain landscapes, with sites along the way including Mount Timpanogos and Robert Redford’s Sundance Resort, including a short detour to Cascade Springs.  Mirror Lake Scenic Byway cuts through Utah’s highest mountain range from the town of Kamas up into the national forest before descending to placid Mirror Lake. The start of the the Mirror Lake Highway scenic drive is located 16 miles east of Park City in the town of Kamas. Mirror Lake is about an hour drive from Park City, but plan to back a picnic and enjoy a leisurely one hour hike around Mirror Lake.
  4. Utah Olympic Park . There’s plenty to see and do at Utah Olympic Park in the fall. Experience the Comet!  Or, propel yourself down the Extreme Zipline – the steepest zipline in the world. And on a slower pace, explore the FREE Olympic Museum and learn about the amazing stories of Olympic achievement. Admission to the Park is free and must-do on everyone’s Park City fall activity list.   5. Park City Resort Activities .
    Park City Resort/Canyons Village - The Alpine Coaster, Alpine Slide, and Zipline provide just a few of the many exciting activities for the whole family can enjoy this fall. Take a scenic chairlift ride or bring along your bike and explore miles of trails bathed in spectacular fall colors.
    • PCMR/Late Season:  September 3rd – September 29
      Open Thursday – Sunday:  11am – 6pm . (Town Lift Chairlift is closed)
    • PCMR/Canyons Village . closed
  6. Deer Valley Resort is open weekends through mid-September , but you can still enjoy their miles of hiking and biking trails long into the fall, just no ride up the chairlift.
  7. The Park City Farmer’s Market is held every Wednesday from noon to 6:00 PM at its new location at Park City Resort, chocked full of fruits, vegetables, and with the holiday season coming, unique Christmas gifts, great food, and music. The Market runs through late October, so make plans to visit and stock up.
  8. Thiller  An annual tradition, and always a sellout!  Thriller at the Egyptian Theater!  A ghoulish dance of monsters and maniacs, creeps and clowns. It is mystifying, mesmerizing, and morbid.   I’ve got my tickets already, how about you?

  9. Howl 'O Ween on Main St - The highlight of the fall season is Howl-O-Ween on Main Street.  Bring the kids, “big” trick-or-treat bags and the dogs in costume and enjoy the fun and festivities on Main Street. (check for an update on this event.)
  10. Fall Fishing in Utah - Two very popular fly fishing waters are located close to Park City. The Provo River through Heber Valley and down Provo Canyon is rated as one of the best trout waters in the US, and it can be fished year-round.
