Triple Crown World Series

The Triple Crown tournament has kicked off to a great start. This is what the Triple Crown Sports website has to say about moving the Triple Crown World Series to Park City, Utah.
The Triple Crown World Series was established in 1995 and in it's inaugural year, 24 teams participated. The teams loved the competition, but more importantly, they loved the mountain resort town of Steamboat Springs, CO. Steamboat Springs offered teams an experience that they would never forget. The weather was perfect, with temperatures in the mid 80's and after the team were through playing their games each day, the players, coaches, and families would go rafting or horseback riding. In 2001, 110 teams made their way to Steamboat Springs, CO for the Triple Crown World Series and in 2002, 145 teams participated. The World Series had grown at a rapid pace and in 2003, we needed to move the World Series to Park City, UT because of the growth potential and the growth of the Triple Crown Baseball series also in Steamboat Springs, CO. In 2006, 272 teams participated and this number is expected to grown in 2007 to between 300 to 310 teams. Park City, UT has many of the same characteristics as Steamboat Springs, CO and was also host of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. The 2005 and the 2006 Opening Ceremonies are being held at the base of the 200 meter Olympic Ski Jump and it is a great site for teams to see their name on the huge TV screen mounted on the side of the ski hill. Park City is easily accessed by air from Salt Lake City which is a 45-60 minute drive.
Welcome to everyone that is here to play or to watch. Enjoy your stay in Park City, Utah.
