April showers…

As we bid adieu to April, skiers are gloomy and shopkeepers are tired.  It’s a transition time for Park City but as locals and visitors alike know, this time of year not only offers a much needed opportunity to rest and revive but also the ability to enjoy the beauty of the city without the skiers!

Lodging is less expensive for the savy visitor, amazing restaurants normally offering delectable food at high end rates will gladly feed two people for the price of one.  ’Sales’ signs are in every shop window and the outdoor activities are abundant!

Take the time to saunter up and down Main Street in Park City on a cool, crisp spring day after an energetic hike on an award winning trail in town, or visit one of the many spas and retreats in the area.

PC

Snooze in the gentle spring sun and bike the raill trail to a neighboring town.  Enjoy the spring blooms in the City Park and take in an evening theatre performance.

No matter what your days consist of, there is no lack for Park City in the springtime, except perhaps, a lack of people.

Skiers and boarders day of sadness approaches

It’s a sad time of year for skiers and winter vacationers as we move from winter to spring and beyond.  Although not the ‘year of plenty’, it was certainly the ‘year of enough’ and many guests, downhill skiers, boarders, cross country skiers alike enjoyed what they found in Park City.   Aside from the activity of choice, the dining and apres ski was exceptional.

But without further ado, here they are. The ‘official’ Closing Dates- unless they change.

Park City, slow down and breathe…

Whether you see Park CIty Main Street in a pre-dawn photo like this or in a mid-day photo like the one below, you can’t miss the beauty and charm of the town.  With the fast paced lives that we live, isn’t it nice to have a place to go where time slows down, where you can breathe fresh, clean air and reconnect with yourself, in the place you are today, right now, without thinking about the iPhone tweat, the Facebook post, the emails and text messages and calls….
Just breathe deep the cold mountain air, watch the snow fall, listen to the silence, and for a week, a weekend, a day or a moment, slow down!
